Medical Assistants are a vital part of the clinical team. As a medical assistant you may work along side of the provider performing clinical and/or administrative duties. As a medical assistant  you can obtain vital signs, administer medications per orders, obtain medical histories,  schedule appointments and assist with processing paperwork or billing

Medical Assistant/EKG Technology

In this certificate program, you will learn the personal traits and professional capabilities required of a capable entry-level medical assistant, where you will work with doctors, nurses and other members of a medical staff. Since medical assistant responsibilities can be both clinical and clerical, GHC ensures you will receive training that develops all the necessary skills to perform a variety of tasks that achieve high quality patient care.

Students in the Medical Assistant certificate program will gain a broad set of skills that they can apply to a number of medical office environments. Classes focus on topics such as examination techniques, surgical procedures, medical office laboratory procedures, medical law and more, taught by instructors with years of experience.

Through hands-on training and equipment that mirrors real-world settings, students will learn how to properly interface with patients, record vital signs, collect/prepare laboratory specimens, administer medications, authorize drug refills, draw blood, perform injections, take electrocardiograms and other important skills necessary to work as a medical assistant.
